The Boulari-Havannah Passage (or Havannah-Boulari Passage) is located approx 55 km North East of Isle of Pines, or 166km east of Noumea. It offers beautiful views of the surrounding islands and is regarded as a scenic short cut for cruise ships traveling to Vanuatu from Australia. Amadee Island is located at the start of the Havannah-Boulari Passage. The first part of the name of the passage obviously comes from HMS Havannah skippered by Captain John Erskine which passed though the passage in 1849 on its way to Efate in Vanuatu. There are daily Air Vanuatu flights to Port Vila from Sydney and Brisbane, and flights to Luganville Espiritu Santo once a week from either Sydney or Brisbane.
