Like Serrières and Limony, Andance was formerly a port on the Rhone very animated at the time of the unloading of the goods. At that time, Andance depended on the Counts d' Albon, on the other side of the Rhone. Navigation on the Rhone is a richness of the cultural and historical inheritance in Andance. Many boats famous for their tourist cruisings stop in the commune (here, Cezanne with quay with Andance). The quay of Andance will be refitted for the accosting of the pleasure boats of less than 40 meters and will be embellished for the walk. Today the commune of Andance has one of the rare ports navigable along the portion of the Rhone which connects Lyon in Avignon. In the village, remain of old fortifications pointing out the time of the Counts d' Albon: the houses surrounded by four turns gathered around their church. The church was built by Bertrand of Dovecote, abbot of Cluny (1295). It depended on the Abbey of the Chair God. It was very altered during centuries.
