Fairport is located in Monroe County 20 min from downtown Rochester, 60 min from Buffalo, 70 min from Syracuse and 25 min from the airport.<br> The village of Fairport has family-owned businesses, waterfront restaurants and specialty stores. The community is known for its canal boat tours, low electric rates because of its local public power company and the Canal Days Festival - which attracts about 200,000 people a year. The Humane Society of Rochester and Monroe County operates "Lollypop Farm" on Victor Road. Historic Bushnell's Basin is along the Erie Canal on Route 96.
