The town of Wolgast is divided by the Peenestrom, one side of the town is on the island of Usedom and the other is on the mainland. The impressive bridge that crosses the river links the two sides of the town together. Therefore, Wolgast is also called the gateway to Usedom. For a great view across the water to the island of Usedom, visit the little town of Lassan. And remember to keep an eye out for some of the historic house doors in the lovingly restored town centre.
