Villeneuve-sur-Yonne is ideally located on the banks of the River Yonne set in a partially wooded hilly landscape and huddled together close to the Clock Tower of Notre-Dame’s church.The development of the town has been keeping with the old center with its numerous dark tiled roofs. the old town centre is encircled by footpaths which were formely traces of the medieval walls which surrounded the ancient centre and are now used as green walkays. Houses dating back to the 17th and 18th century add to the charm of the town centre.
