Blue Corner offers true world-class diving. The scope of marine life is of a consistently high quality and includes rich coral reefs and guaranteed encounters with big pelagic animals. Blue Corner, situated on the edge of a shallow plateau to the southwest of Ngerukewid (Seventy Islands) is washed by powerful currents that create an incredible food web. This is an advanced dive. Divers have to hook themselves onto the reef—using patches of dead coral and small reef hooks—to observe the gray and white tip reef sharks hovering in the crystal-clear water at the edge of the drop-off. Visibility on this dive can be up to 150 feet (45 m), although it has been as low as 60 feet (18 m). Along with sharks, there are king mackerel, giant and bluefin trevallies, and dogtooth tuna. Back from the edge of the plateau, the reef is policed by large napoleon wrasses, lionfish, spotted eagle rays, and the ubiquitous clownfish, as well as many other well-known species. The end of this dive is a decompression stop that involves stepping off into the blue water beyond the continental shelf and drifting surrounded by schools of blackfin barracuda and various pelagic species.
