The "Big Chute" is a Railway lock, it's the only one known in the world. You drive the boat on and it's up out of the water, over the roadway, and down to the basin below on railroad tracks. It lowered us 58 feet, they used slings to support our 35,000 lbs. in the cradle. Very cool, and very quick. The cradle can take boats up to 100 feet and 90 tons. It also adjusts to take a variety of boat types and sizes in a single trip.
