Just a five-mile boat ride southwest of Port Howe the deep blue suddenly reverses direction and comes screaming to the surface. A square-mile plateau covered by a lush garden of hard corals and a rainbow of sponges and sea fans peaks at just 30 feet. The plateau gradually slopes down to a drop-off that begins at 80 feet and goes back into the abyss.
