Buchanan Bay , E Ellesmere Isl., NE Franklin dist., N.W.T., N Canada, arm (40 mi/64 km long, 12 mi/19 km-20 mi/32 km wide) of Kane Basin, on S side of Bache Peninsula; 78°40'-79°03'N 74°30'-77°30'W. On N shore of bay was site of Bache Peninsula post and meteorological station. Half way up the east side of Ellesmere Island, about 50 km. from Greenland lies a series of deep fiords I'll call Buchanan Bay. (also called Alexandria Fiord) It has long been considered the jewel of sea-kayaking experiences in the Canadian High Arctic.
