Lemmer is located in the northern province of Friesland. Lemmer is located on the border of the Ysselmeer (Lake Yssel). Lemmer is located 100 km northeast of Amsterdam. Larger cities in the neighbourhood are Sneek and Heerenveen. Both are at a distance of 25 km. Lemmer is only a small town. Most people only have a small garden, if any. In the past, Lemmer had a lot of fishermen. Nowadays, there are only a few left. Lemmer does have a lot of tourism. Between April and October there are many, many tourists, most of which are from Germany. Those tourists are interested in the lakes that surround us. Around Lemmer, there are a lot of farmers.In spring tourists will see many fields with flowering tulips! The heart of Lemmer is pretty old with a canal and a church building from 1776.Climate is moderate. In summertime, temperatures usually are between 20o C and 30o C. In winter it can be cold, but sometimes there are winters with hardly any snow or frost.
