Tresco is a privately owned island, which measures just two miles by one. There is a sub-post office, banking facilities and the world famous Abbey Gardens. Home to a wonderful collection of 20,000 exotic plants growing with a luxuriance unknown elsewhere in the UK, it is a perennial Kew without the glass, where even in winter more than 300 plants will be in flower. Over half of the Island's seven mile coastline is fringed with fine white sand, shelving gently into waters of blue crystal. Undeveloped and uncrowded, Tresco offers an inspiration for escapists of all ages.
