While Mystic still exhibits a strain of genuine New England Yankee stubborness, Mystic can also warm your heart with its open hospitality and village charm. <br> How to Get to Mystic, Connecticut <br> By Automobile: From New Haven, New York, and points South. Follow I-95 North to exit 90 (Route 27). Follow Route 27 South. The Olde Mystic Village and Shopping areas are right off Route 27 at I-95. Continue South and you will pass the Mystic Seaport on your right and two parking areas for the Seaport on your left. At the next stop light turn right, and follow the road until you come to a monument (Route 1). Turn right and you will be in town. <br> From Providence, Boston, and points North. Take I-95 South to exit 90 (Route 27). Follow Route 27 South. The Olde Mystic Village and Shopping areas are right off Route 27 at I-95. Continue South and you will pass the Mystic Seaport on your right and two parking areas for the Seaport on your left. At the next stop light turn right, and follow the road until you come to a monument (Route 1). Turn right and you will be in town. From Hartford, and the Northern Connecticut River Valley. Take Route 2 East to Route 11 (follow the signs to New London). At the end of Route 11 turn left. You will travel a couple of miles to a stop light. Turn right and you will be on Route 85, which will take you past the Crystal Mall and to I-95. Go North on I-95 and follow the directions above from New Haven. <br> By Train: There are several Amtrak trains each day that stop in Mystic from either Boston (about 2 hours) or New York (about 2.5 hours). These trains offer great views of the shoreline. Get seats on the south side of the train (on your left from Boston, on your right from New York) to see the water. Call Amtrak for the departure times at 1-800-872-7245. <br> By Plane: The closest airport to Mystic is the Groton-New London Airport. It is about eight miles away. It's on the coast and can be fogged in during early morning hours. There are several flights to and from Philadelphia. You can also get to Mystic from larger airports like Bradley Airport in Hartford, CT, which is about 1 1/2 hours away, or the T.F.Green near Providence, RI about 45 minutes away.
