Situated in the very north of Jiangxi Province in southeast China, this mountain resort has been the site of a number of important events in modern Chinese history which makes it more than just a pretty scenic spot. There are a number of other scenic attractions in Lushan, including a cave where a monk is supposed to have discovered the secret to immortality, and a botanical garden which swaps cuttings with Kew Gardens.
